The second day of Amazon Prime Day (opens in new tab) Gaming PC deals are here and incredibly, there are still a variety of great machines available at discounted prices. We probably won’t see many more being added here. So if you have one sitting in your basket right now, we recommend hitting ‘buy’ before the summer deals disappear.
Keep in mind, however, that the next wave of AMD, Intel and Nvidia CPUs and GPUs is on the horizon, meaning retailers are scrambling to sell gaming PCs with older components before they’re eclipsed. Don’t get me wrong, the components will remain relevant for some time to come, you just have to put up with the fact that you’re a generation behind. For the price some of these are, you can probably get past that fact rather than splash out on the next-gen right away, right?
First off is the GPU shortage at last ease up. While we’re not quite within the MSRP range, many graphics cards are pretty darn close. That means system builders should be able to drive prices down even further. Not just $100 here and there, but really significant savings.
The other factor is the upcoming next generation of graphics cards. As these land before the end of the year, retailers are scrambling to get the current Gen machines out the door. Prebuilt machines with high-end GPUs like RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, Radeon RX 6900XT, etc. will most likely get discounts since they will be replaced first. The next-gen offering is said to represent a significant increase in performance over the current standard, so expect bigger savings on high-end machines.
Of course, the GPU accounts for a large part of a gaming system’s performance, but it’s not the only component that fuels the sales oven. New CPUs are also coming from AMD by the end of the year, and there are plenty of 11th Gen Intel CPUs. Additionally, SSD prices continue to fall and RAM has never been cheaper. Indeed, expect plenty of offers.
We’re still sending out our best scouting bots to find the best deals and update this page with the gaming PCs we like. So keep checking back to see what we’ve unearthed. Alternatively, if you’re in the market for a laptop, check out the best Amazon Prime Day laptop deals (opens in new tab).
When does Amazon Prime Day 2022 end?
The official answer is that Prime Day 2022 ends on Wednesday 13th July at 11:59pm. However, the more complicated answer is that it depends on your time zone. In the USA, Amazon Prime Day ends on Wednesday, July 13 at 11:59 p.m. PDTbut this is actually 2:59 p.m. EDT Thursday, July 14.
In the UK it’s a simpler cut at 11:59pm BST Wednesday 13th July.
But that’s all for Amazon’s own special deals, and we’d expect deals from Newegg and Best Buy to hang around for a bit longer.
