Back in June, Sennheiser officially announced the Momentum 4 wireless headphones, which immediately caused an uproar in the audiophile community.
Since then we’ve been fed details, specs and rumours. It’s also understandable that Sennheiser is one of the most respected audio companies in the world. Let’s see what the Sennheiser Momentum 4 wireless headphones could have in store.

Release date of Sennheiser Momentum 4
While we don’t have an exact release date or time for the Sennheiser Momentum 4 release, Sennheiser itself has confirmed that the new headphones will be available in Aug 2022.
That’s as accurate as we can get at the moment, but as that date draws ever closer, whenever it comes, we’ll be keeping our ears open to update you on the details.
Pre-order the Sennheiser Momentum 4
We expect the Momentum 4 pre-order site to go live shortly before release, but that’s not a given.
Unlike the video game industry, there isn’t always a pre-order period to take advantage of, sometimes the company just releases them outright.
Whatever the case, you’ll be able to get your hands on these fairly soon, but you may need to grab them quick on release rather than have them delivered on day one.
Sennheiser Momentum 4 price
We don’t have a confirmed price yet, but the previous generations of the Sennheiser Momentum headphones can be used to plot some sort of price development.
The Sennheiser Momentum 3 wireless headphones are currently $400 (£350). Unfortunately, they’ve seen only minor price drops since release.
This means we’re likely eyeing a slightly higher base price for the Sennheiser Momentum 4.
Our current estimate is around $420 (blaze it). This will offer a nice price premium over the current generation, and from what we’ve heard about the specs it’ll be a pretty fair price too.
Additionally, the Momentum 3 wireless headphones will likely see a price drop, making the previous but still excellent headphones more accessible.
Sennheiser Momentum 4 specifications
As with the current generation, we’re certainly treated to some pretty impressive specs. For a change, we actually have some confirmed features as well.
Sound is delivered by a pair of 42mm drivers, which are also tilted back slightly to direct sound more organically into the ear canal.
The Sennheiser Momentum 4 microphone is also updated. This time the microphones are internal and angled to better receive the voice pickup.
The design of the Momentum 4 headphones has also been improved to further improve ANC (Active Noise Cancelling).
Deeper earcups and a better seal improve both noise-cancelling performance and bass response.
In addition, the deeper earcups also produce a more natural-sounding bass response. This makes it sound more like the sound is coming from your environment rather than a single source.
