Drake, the world-renowned recording artist who once cemented Fortnite’s colossal popularity by playing live with Ninja (opens in new tab), is still PC gaming. Though he’s not that into battle royale these days, the rapper has been getting interested in Twitch’s gambling boom lately (opens in new tab).
Four months ago, Drake began appearing in promotional videos and gambling live streams for Stake, an online gambling platform that has also partnered with some of the biggest streamers on Twitch. One of those gambling streamers, Xposed, recently spent over $7,000 on a snazzy home-built PC and decided to buy another one for Drake while he was at it.
@Xposed didn’t just buy a top of the line PC, he bought two!! He gave the other one to @Drake last night!! WE FINALLY BUILT A PC FOR DRAKE!!! pic.twitter.com/JpbJqmWY1KJuly 12, 2022
The $7,400 custom PCs, assembled by Paradox Customs (who also built a PC for The Weeknd), are specified down to the last detail:
- RTX3090Ti
- Intel i9-12900KS 16 core processor
- NZXT Kraken Z73 360MM Liquid Cooler
- 64GB DDR5 RAM
- 4TB NVME storage
Why such a generous gift? Aside from the obvious promotional value of hooking up with a famous rapper, Xposed says Drake’s new PC is a redemption for the last time he was asked to help with Drake’s streaming setup.
“It’s not about the money or Drake, who already has money, [I’m seeing] much hate”, Xposed tweeted (opens in new tab) yesterday. “I was looking for a PC so I decided to get Drake a custom PC as well because when I was first asked to set up his stream I got him a pre-built one from Best Buy because it was such short notice was.”
Xposed might refer to Drake’s recent sponsored gambling streams, which I’ve only seen the highlights of, but apparently Drake is winning a lot of money (opens in new tab) and jump for joy several times.
At least with PC Specs (opens in new tab) These include RTX 3090Ti cards, Intel i9-12900KS 16-core CPUs, liquid cooling and 4TB of NVME storage. The pair will surely be well-equipped to open a web browser, load up virtual slots, and make high-stakes gambling look very cool and chilled to any teen watching on Twitch.
It’s certainly an upgrade from what we know about Terry Crews’ 2017 PC (opens in new tab) and Henry Cavill’s Build 2020 (opens in new tab)including GTX Titan XP and RTX 2080Ti cards respectively.
