The Earth’s crust is dripping “like honey” into the hot interior of our planet below the Andes, scientists have discovered.

By setting up a simple experiment in a sandbox and comparing the results to actual geological data, researchers have found compelling evidence to support this Earth Crust has been “hurled away” hundreds of kilometers in the Andes after being swallowed by the viscous mantle.
